Civic orientation – statutory right for newly arrived migrants living in Sweden

Free of charge course for individuals that recently have been granted a residence permit and have an introduction programme from the Swedish employment service. The course is also available for next-of-kin immigrants. The course has an duration of one hundred hours and is offered in the mother tongue. The course is to learn about the Swedish democracy and about how the Swedish society is organized. Further the course deals with topics like education, everyday life, housing, health, education, medical care and children and families. The aim of the civic orientation is to facilitate to enter the Swedish society. After ending the course each individual receives a certificate.
